Iglu.com

The client Iglu.com are a Specialist Ski Travel Agent who's business and information systems are primarily web based.
Our brief
  • To build an exciting interface to a database containing 3000 Ski Chalets, Bulletin Boards, a Booking System (including ecommerce), Shortlists, Newsletters, and Weather Reports.
  • To build a web based management system for managing all of Iglu.com's Data, including Telephone Call Tracking, Promotions Management and Newsletter Management
How the brief was met

The site is the largest online ski accomodation booking site in the world. It offers customers a range of services from search and booking to bulletin boards and newsletter subscription; and it provides the company with a turnkey solution encompassing content management, customer tracking, call management and e-commerce.

Working to a tight deadline of 9 weeks, 4 Paneris developers worked closely with APR and Iglu.com to create the system for a fixed price in seven weeks.

The middleware is all written in Perl, and uses a Template technology developed by us with this project in mind. The site is hosted on NT.

Iglu.com was delivered 3 days early and has received rave reviews on Sky News and in the Financial Times.

At the request of the client, the project management page is not currently available to the public.


Bloomsbury Publishing Plc

The client Bloomsbury Publishing PLC are a leading independent publisher of quality literature. Recent publications include Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Bloomsbury (in partnership with Microsoft) will soon be publishing The Encarta World English Dictionary
Our brief
  • To build an ecommerce system that allows customers to purchase any of Bloomsbury's 1500 recent publications.
  • To raise the profile of Bloomsbury and the Books they publish.
How the brief was met

Paneris members built a simple and effective interface to Bloomsbury's database of books, and provided hardware and software to allow the data to be entered.

The site includes competitions, sneak previews, and other interactive mechanism that allow Bloomsbury to build a valuable mailing list.

On launch, the site received a number of awards, including 'Yell: choice of the week".

The middleware is all written in Perl, which allowed Bloomsbury to easily migrate from Unix to NT when they needed to.

The Museum of
Army Flying

The client

The Museum of Army Flying is based at an airfield in Middle Wallop (Southern UK).

Our brief
  • To build a simple and effective site that will inform visitors and encourage people to visit the museum.
  • To raise the profile of the Museum's main event "Music in the Air"
How the brief was met

Mike Cunningham built an excellent design based photos of the museum's aircraft, and dispensing with their current designed material.

Tim Joyce then built and implemented the site.

The site was completed in a rushed timescale of 2 weeks, and hit budget (2200) exactly.

We are already recieving favourable comments (one day after launch):

The client PFE Express Ltd are Shipping Agents and Freight Forwarders based in Chelmsford, Essex, UK.
Our brief
  • To build a modern, web-based database system to track Orders and Shipments.
How the brief was met

Analysis of an existing package, and the creation of a generic order tracking system before meeting with the end client enabled a minimum of face to face contact.

This was our first whole site to be constructed using our own DataDictionary System through Java Servlets and Webmacro templates on top of postgres/Linux.

The Corps of Commissionaires

The client

The The Corps of Commissionaires is a large organisation for ex military and police personell. They supply a range of secutiry and other services.

Our brief
  • To build a web site that reflects the Corps complicate range of services.
  • To give the corps a modern and professional web presence.
How the brief was met

Giles Thompson built an excellent design based on extensive discussions with the client.

Tim Joyce then built and implemented the site.

The site was given extra sparkle by Daniel Hart who created a Flash entry page.

We hit the budget (3000) exactly.
