Hannah,Thankyou very much for our encouraging conversation.
We are a collective of programmers, designers, web-marketteers etc, please see our introduction.
We wish to work on defined projects remotely, preferably as a team.
I was delighted that you liked our Project Management System; however it should be seen as an outdated technology demonstrator.
We are very keen to fund the further development of the system.
If you play with it you will find that it does have some shortcomings:
1. It currently uses Access
2. It is written in Perl
3. It only has rudimentary (IP based) security
4. It has no field validation
5. Invoices are not generated automatically
6. It does not use template technology
7. It does not have project archiving
We would, ideally, like to port it to Java using Webmacro as the
template technology. We prefer to sell work rather than software, to this end we would be very happy to give you the existing system, for you indefinite use, with source code.
However we would charge for:
1. Installation
2. Modifications
3. CustomisationsWe have a CVS based code control system, so if your own programmers wished to contribute to changing the system
that would be possible. We do not have records of how long the existintg system took to develop, (as it wasn't in place at the time :))
but I would estimate that it would have cost 5k, so
it is a substantial freebie. We have used the PMS for our own projects for some while,
and as we demonstrated on the 'phone it does give valuable information on costs of past projects. We have also developed software to enable people to
update webdatabases from local databases using CSV files. We have a complete range of skills available, from data inputters to linux gurus (and some very talented graphic deigners).
I hope we can form a long term relationship with Internet Assist Ltd.
yours sincerely
