Money
We charge for our work by the hour. The charge for each hour
is made up of the hourly rate for the developer plus 10% finder's fee,
paid to the person who introduced the partner organistion to Paneris.
There is also a 10% management fee paid to the Paneris
project leader for management duties such as
- Creation and maintenance of Paneris and PMS data
- Customer management/liason
- Administration
Finders Fee
The finders fee is envisaged as a sales incentive, for members of Paneris
to sell the work of other members.
Current Rates
We currently charge £33.33 per hour for a developer.
This means that £3.33 per hour goes to the finder and
the £3.33 to the project leader. This means that our fee to customers is
£40.00 per hour (a penny goes to the Paneris fund!)
Other Rates
Many projects are fixed price, in which case the developer's hourly
rate will be calculated by the project leader. A good scheme is to
divide the fee by the total number of hours worked.
Rewarding the Gifted
When the pigs fly we will all work for free and recieve all we need for nothing.
In the meantime it seems iniquitous for the talented to be paid the same,
per hour, as the less talented.
An equitable mechanism would see those who can do a days work in three hours still paid
a whole days pay.
This becomes possible on fixed price jobs, where the estimate is safely based upon the
productivity of the average programmer. To this end we seek to estimate jobs without a
particular programmer in mind.
